Cleverdon Team

Our classes range in size from 12 to 20 children of similar age groups. This helps both the child and the teacher, as the norms and capabilities stay within a certain range. All our classes are taught by dynamic teachers who are truly passionate about what they do.

Debra Wallace

Debra Wallace has owned the school since 1996 and is invaluably supported by our excellent teachers, teaching assistants and domestic staff. Debra is passionate about early childhood development.  With 30 years experience her objectives are to provide a stimulating, nurturing and holistic environment for preschool children. To facilitate their emotional and social development to deal with the demands of the 21st   Century and develop a strong sense of self.  Using a play-based and relationship -based approach to early childhood development for optimal development of the whole child.


Sarah Lamsley

Sarah is a nurturing, caring and dedicated teacher who stimulates and encourages her children and is loved by all. She is currently our Grade 0 teacher.

" I am passionate about early childhood education and the role it plays in children’s development. I believe that it lays the foundation for all future learning and success. I consider the children as my own and strive to love and nurture them while building their self-confidence during their time at Cleverdon. I qualified with a Bachelor of Education in Foundation Phase, with a major in Psychology. I have been teaching at Cleverdon for 5 and a half years now and look forward to many more. "




Desray Voster

My name is Desray Vorster. I graduated Cum Laude BEd Foundation Phase Degree at the University of Pretoria. My teaching philosophy can be described as inclusive and energetic. Through positivity, individualised teaching opportunities and respect, I believe all children can achieve success both inside and outside the classroom.

“Working with children has been a long-time passion of mine, which serves as my motivation to sculpt and shape our future leaders. I can be described as conscientious, driving excellent performance, while multitasking and working under pressure.




Anne Gillard

Anne is an experienced, qualified and caring teacher who inspires and supports her children in our Bumblebees Class. “I graduated, Cum Laude, B.Ed. Foundation phase, ECD, and majored in English and Child & Adolescent Development Psychology, which includes Research in the Social Sciences.

I am passionate about Learner Support and Development. My degree focused on Inclusive Education, Integrated learning in all 8 learning areas and particularly on the diversity in our classrooms in South Africa today and supporting any learner with possible barriers to learning. I have 4 of my own children and now enjoy precious time with my 4 grandchildren.
